The walk begins at the Queimadas Forest Park, a lush, green area equipped with facilities and known for its traditional Madeiran thatched roof shelters.
This trail is a classic levada walk, following the water channel through a dense laurel forest. The path is narrow with some tunnels and steep edges, requiring a headlamp and good footing.
The main attraction is the Caldeirão Verde, a stunning emerald green lagoon surrounded by high cliffs and fed by a beautiful waterfall, creating a truly picturesque and serene environment.
The route is about 13 kilometers round trip, typically taking about 4h30m to complete, including time for rests and enjoying the scenery at the lagoon.
